Renew your hackney carriage vehicle licence
Overview
You have received an email from the service advising you that your current Hackney Carriage vehicle licence (plate) will expire in approximately 6 weeks time and you have followed the link on that email to this page.
In the email will be a unique reference code that you will be asked for when using the renewal form. Please do not share this code with any other person, it is unique to you. If anyone else uses it they will see your personal data. You may find it easier to copy and paste the reference number to ensure it's correct.
Please note:
- During the application you will need to pay for your licence. Please ensure you have a valid credit or debit card to hand
- You will be asked to upload a copy of your vehicle V5C (logbook) and Vehicle Insurance certificate.
If you are using a mobile device to make your application you can take a photograph of your documents during the application process, which can be uploaded before you submit. - We may require further information from you after you have applied. We will contact you by email should this be the case
- The application must be completed in one session. You cannot save and quit.
- Please ensure that you respond to any emails. Failure to do so may delay your renewal and you may not be able to work
- The renewal forms may not work correctly in Internet Explorer, please use Chrome, Edge, or Safari.
- Please ensure you click the Finish button at the end of the process
