How do I update the operator details on my badge?

If you wish to update the operator displayed on your badge, please email taxi.testing@bradford.gov.uk after you have submitted your application with the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Your badge number
  • Inform us which operators you wish to remove
  • Inform us which operators you wish to add

We will also require an operator letter from your new operator, which confirms you now work for them.

If working for more than one operator, a letter is required from each one, confirming they are aware you will work for the other operator.

Please note: If you request to change your operator after your renewal application has been granted, you will need to complete a change of operator request, which costs £5.00.

What documents should I attach with my application?

To speed up your renewal application, it is helpful to attach a copy of a recently generated DVLA check code and a copy of your right to work.

Can I update my operator details while renewing my badge?

Yes, once you have submitted your driver renewal, please send an email to taxi.testing@bradford.gov.uk confirming which operator/operators you will be working for. Further documents will then be requested from you. Please note: If you wish to change your operator after your badge has been issued, a fee will be required.

We do not facilitate transfer of licences for Private Hire vehicles. If you have bought a vehicle with the plates on, the previous owner will need to surrender this licence before we would be able to process your application.

I have purchased a private vehicle registration and wish to add this to my vehicle, how do I do this?

If you have purchased a private vehicle registration, you will need to ensure that your vehicle documentation has been updated with the DVLA. When you are inputting your new vehicle application, please attach your updated log book or your eV948 authorisation certificate when prompted.

Do I need to fit the black bracket on my vehicle before my vehicle test?

No, when your vehicle passes inspection, you will then be issued a black bracket along with your vehicle plate and windscreen disc.

My vehicle is a category S/N insurance write off, can this vehicle be licensed?

Category S/N vehicles can be licensed as long as a certificate from Autolign Services has been provided. Please visit the Autolign Services website for more information.
