Online Private Hire Vehicle Licence Renewal

Overview

You have received an email from the service advising you that your current Private Hire vehicle licence will expire in approximately 6 weeks’ time and you have followed the link on that email to this page.

The email will contain a unique reference code that you will be asked for when you open the renewal form. Please do not share this code with anyone else, it is unique to you. If anyone else uses the code, they will see your personal data. You may find it easier to copy and paste the reference number to ensure its correct.

Please note:

  • During the application you will need to make a payment for your licence. Please ensure you have a valid credit/debit card to hand.
  • You will be asked to upload a copy of your vehicle V5C (logbook) and Vehicle Insurance certificate with your application.
  • We may require further information from you after you have applied, we will contact you by email should this be the case.
  • The application must be completed in one session, you cannot save and quit.
  • Please ensure that you respond to any emails, failure to do so may delay your renewal and you may not be able to work.
  • The renewal forms may not work correctly in Internet Explorer, please use Chrome, Edge, or Safari.
  • Please ensure you click the ‘Submit’ button at the end of the process.

If you require any help please read help and guidance with online forms.

Renew your Private Hire Vehicle licence

When I enter my reference number it says it cannot find my records?

Firstly, ensure you are typing in your reference exactly as it appears on the email, the easiest way is to copy and paste.

Please ensure you are not trying to renew a licence that has already expired. You cannot renew an expired licence.

If your licence has expired, please apply for a new vehicle application using this link: Apply for a new vehicle licence

I have received the vehicle renewal link but I no longer wish to licence this vehicle, what should I do?

If you no longer wish to licence your current vehicle, you will need to email taxi.testing@bradford.gov.uk stating your vehicle licence details and request a surrender licence form. Once we have received a completed surrender licence form, and evidence you have destroyed your plates, we will issue a confirmation that this vehicle is no longer licenced.

I wish to licence a new vehicle instead of my current vehicle, what should I do?

If you wish to licence a new vehicle, please visit this link for further information: Apply for a new vehicle licence.

My vehicle is currently suspended and I received the renewal link, what should I do?

If your vehicle is currently suspended and you have repaired or are in the process of repairing this vehicle, please submit your renewal application as normal.

If your vehicle is currently suspended and you do not believe that this vehicle will be repaired in time for your renewal, please email taxi.testing@bradford.gov.uk with your details for advice.

I have purchased a private vehicle registration and wish to add this to my vehicle, how do I do this?

If you have purchased a private vehicle registration, you will need to ensure that your vehicle documentation has been updated with the DVLA and your insurance provider. When you are inputting your vehicle renewal application, please attach your updated log book and insurance along with your eV948 authorisation certificate when prompted.
